As you may have heard, Clawfoot House is closing its doors. We've had some great people, musicians, performers, and artists come through our rooms. More information can be found in this article . All good things must end, and Ember/Bryan/Amy/Bryan are all very thankful for everyone's continued support. Thank you.

Good morning friends. We'd like to send out a special thanks to everyone who participated and attended the show last week. Here's a write-up from Omahype Regarding the show tonight: Long Rattling Chain had to cut their tour short and won't be coming through Lincoln, but the show will go on. The Wandering Bears played at Cultiva last night, and are going to be a special guest performance at tonights show. We've got plenty of exciting shows coming up, and we hope to see you here! Thank you for your continued support.

Dear reader,

After a quiet May, Clawfoot House will be full of music and women for June; we are happy to announce Women's Month for June 2011. We will be hosting women musicians from Minneapolis, Portland, and Brooklyn! We've also got local women playing the shows, and we'd love for you to join us. Furthermore, the next Clawfoot Salon will take place on June 30th before the show (which is at 7pm that evening). Check out the calendar section for a monster update.

Clawfoot House had some great press coverage in the past week! Here's an article from News Net Nebraska by Nick French. Also, May-Ying Lam used a large photo from Clawfoot House in the "New Directions" section of the Lincoln Journal Star last Sunday. The online version can be found here. We've got some big acts from around the world coming through in the next couple months! We'd love to see you at a show, and we'll do our best to keep bringing new and exciting events.

Thanks to Shaina, Tubzine has been officially launched! Tubzine is Clawfoot House's webzine. The zine is currently looking for submissions of nearly any type. Visit the site for more information. Only two more shows at Clawfoot House this year. As always, thanks to everyone who has been coming to the shows--they really wouldn't be possible without you!

Grand Reopening was great! Thanks to Shane for filming a few excerpts of the show. They can be found on youtube, and they will be posted in the video section here soon! A lot at Clawfoot House this weekend. Check out the article in the Journal Star today about Clawfoot's series for experimental and improvised music. Friday, 6/11, Bad Buddhist: Photography by Justin Clifford Rhody. An art opening at 6 with music at 8. Free event, musician donations encouraged. Music by DBH, Seeded Plain, Dereck Higgins and Jessica Lindsey. 6/12 am: a huge garage sale. 6/13: the Chiara String Quartet! 8 pm, $8. 6/14: 8 pm, $5 for four bands: The New Heaven and the New Earth (Philly), Water Bears (St. Louis), Jeremy Powers, Sol Residue.

The internationally recognized Chiara String Quartet will be returning for their second Clawfoot House performance on Sunday, June 13 at 8 pm. It's an $8 show. Last chance to see the Jad Fair art show is at the Nick Jaina show (with Bear Country and Ember Schrag) on June 6. Our next art opening, featuring photos by Justin Clifford Rhody and music by DBH, Seeded Plain, Dereck Higgins and Jessica Lindsey, will be from 6-9 pm on Friday, June 11.

Thanks so much to everyone for making the Spring Fundraiser a success. We had a wonderful party at the new Cultiva Cafe and raised $780 for Clawfoot House.

Please join us for our spring fundraiser next Sunday, May 16. It's a backyard acoustic show with Triggertown, Kill County, Dean the Bible and Less Talk, More Polka. The show starts at 7 pm and costs $6 to get in. It's also a potluck grill; contributions to the potluck encouraged but not required. Bring a lawn chair! You can sign up for the new Clawfoot House membership program; we will have special premiums for signing up the day of this event. It's the second-to-last show for beloved local Americana act Triggertown, as well as a rare reunion show for Kill County.

Did you know that Clawfoot House is bringing Jad Fair of Half Japanese to Lincoln on Friday, May 7? Opening for Jad's art show at Clawfoot from 6-9 (music by The Shipbuilding Co.) and concert at the Zoo Bar at 10 with Jad Fair, UUVVWWZ and Samuel Locke Ward & the Boo Hoos.

Cleemann's coming back to from Denmark and he's playing at Clawfoot House on Thursday night, April 1, with Dereck Higgins and friends. You & Yourn is back for that show too, and Diamond Kazzoo!

Amy Denio is coming to Lincoln on Mar 10 and 11 for three events co-sponsored by Clawfoot House and the UNL Women's Center! Amy will be joining the Clawfoot Salon at UNL on Mar 10 at 7 pm. On Mar 11 she will present a free lecture at UNL at 11:30 am, and will play at Clawfoot House at 9 pm. These events are part of Women's Week at UNL and are made possible by a grant from the Berman Music Foundation. Here is an article on the Amy Denio events.

Thanks to everyone who made the Clawfoot House Benefit last weekend a huge success! We raised nearly $2000 to help keep Clawfoot House alive and kicking.

More great shows coming soon, like a free Halloween show/costume party with Triggertown, Tom Thumb and Dean the Bible.

Clawfoot House goes international: free show August 27 with Cleemann from Denmark, and special guest Dereck Higgins. Also Ashimba from Tanzania will be performing in October.
