Clawfoot House is a house show venue, artist haven, and home of the Clawfoot Salon for female musicians. We're located in an old murder-tile apartment in Lincoln's newly blighted Everett neighborhood. The venue has been active in Lincoln since January of 2009. Since then we've hosted dozens of excellent musicians, from Lincoln and Omaha, all over the U.S., and even Denmark. We have 4-6 house shows a month with a focus on experimental, indie/folk, old timey and, most recently, classical music. We are also beginning to open up our home for art shows, literary events, and plays.
Mission Statement
The mission of Clawfoot House is to create educational and cultural opportunities in music and the arts. The events we host in our artist-run, alternative performance space bring people together to experience the arts in a unique, intimate setting. While our concert series brings in an eclectic mix of musical styles, our main focus is on creating awareness and appreciation for the avant garde, as well as classical and traditional music. Through our Clawfoot Salon program, we support female musicians and artists and encourage them to learn from and connect with each other. We strive to provide hospitality and fair pay for talented artists—locals and those on tour—who perform at Clawfoot House, as we believe these individuals deserve support for the risks they take to make their art and bring it to us.
